Once upon a now

0nce upon a now there lived some women and men who loved to create art, music, love and wisdom. They worked together in a café and a bead shop for the soul. The bead queen was a woman of wisdom, and the women learned techniques of the mind, heart, and hand from her. The café was a place of camaraderie and conversation in the quaint downtown of a valley city thriving with creativity. The town was illuminated with colorful energy. Magnolia trees lined the mosaic streets and the sky was like a vast rainbow. Within the group of women and men, one woman wished every sunrise and every moonrise to bless her family with a child. The day came, but not just for her. Thirteen couples within this group of friends were blessed with children within a year.

A gift made out of recycled materials was given to the second born of the group by Mama Music. She lived by the river that ran through the city. Her and her husband would sing under the oak trees while butterflies landed on their guitars and sitars. Fireflies danced on the breeze, and frogs splashed in the cool water. While music filled the jasmine scented air of the riverbank, Mama Bird dreamed up Kitty Bear. The gift was Kitty Bear, and from then on Mama Music and Mama Bird would make lil’ ol’ me dolls for the child in us all.

One fine day in may, Mama Black received some rescued furniture fabric samples. Onyx thought it would be special to make his best friend’s mom a unique gift, so in baby talk he whispered in his mama’s ear “Make Mama Bird a frame with these extroidinary materials.” She created a picture frame and gave Mama Bird a picture of Zoe Bird. From that mother’s day on Mama Black and Mama Bird created picture frames together. The best thing about creating these whimsical pieces of art is that the artists can be close to their baby blessings, Onyx Cypress, Zoe Phoenix Alise and Rita Willow Grace.

Three Mamas: Mama Black, Mama Bird, and Mama Music decided to spin their former sewing skills into mama careers. Every creation begins with recycled materials, and with a little of Mama’s love, is transformed into a piece of art. On some days, when Mother Nature invites them outside to play, they bring their sewing machines out under the branches, and while their babies play with each other and the trees, the mamas let the magic fly from their fingertips

Papa Bird occasionally finds time to create handmade hats and baby slings using natural and recycled materials when he isn’t teaching, philosophizing or being a papa.

Three Mamas is a place where you can explore our enchanted world. We would love to share our treasures with you. You can contact each mama at her website when you are ready to receive your work of art.
